Here is a shot that I took this past Labor Day weekend on my quick trip to Lake Willoughby in Vermont.

I happened to see these caterpillars near my pool. I was finally able to identify them as the Milkweed Tiger Moth. They eat weeds. This is a good thing.

Thanks for identifying the species. The caterpillar looked so unbelievably vivid and psychedelic - definitely worth every photo one can take!

please don't remove the plants they eat ! the "weeds" you would like to get rid rid of are invaluable to the species and others ! they're just part of the ecosystem man has messed with.
